Abstract

Usage of standardized surgical technique in early childhood and good long-term results lead to permanent increase of number of adult patients after TOF correction.

Materials and methods. 102 patients over 18 years with TF from the electronic database of the GI «The scientific practical children’s cardiac center» in the period of 01.04.11 – 31.12.15 were included in the study

Results and discussion. Among patients with TF males were dominated (n=63 61.76%). The number of females were 39 (38.24%). Mean age was 24.64±0.77 years. Palliative interventions before radical correction were performed in 26 (25.4%) patients and re-operations – in 40 (39.2%). Among residual pathology prevailed right ventricle outlet tract obstruction and/or pulmonary artery branches stenosis in 22 (21.56%) patients, dilatation and volume overload of right ventricle in 30 (29,41%) patients, which is the result of severe pulmonary insufficiency.

Conclusions. Early diagnostics of residual pathology in the long-term postoperative period can improve the quality of life of these patients and increase life expectancy.
