The periodical was founded in 1999 as A Yearbook of Scientific Papers of the Association of cardiovascular surgeons of Ukraine. Since 2014, the title was changed for Cardiovascular Surgery Herald, and since April 19, 2019 the Journal bears the name Ukrainian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery.
