The paper presents the mechanisms of IMR development and analysis of suture annuloplasty of mitral valve and ring annuloplasty of mitral valve in patients with coronary artery disease and IMR. The direct results of mitral valve ring annuloplasty and suture annuloplasty of mitral valve in patients with coronary artery disease and concomitant IMR are good. There was no detected statistically significant difference between the two methods of mitral valve annuloplasty in this study. The clinical condition of the patients improved significantly, reflecting the positive impact of ring annuloplasty and suture annuloplasty on the quality of life in patients with coronary artery disease and IMR. However, in order to determine clear indications to the particular method of correction of ischemic mitral regurgitation, there is a need in longer follow-up with larger group of patients in the late postoperative period.
